Colossal Directory of Children's Publishers
This site has an alphabetical list of publishers of children's books and magazines. It also has many useful writing tips and tools.

The Institute of Children's Literature
Here you can find information on the writer's craft or chat with other writers.

The Purple Crayon
This is an excellent resource for anyone interested in writing for children.

The Society of Children's Book Writers & Illustrators
If you want to write for children, it has been recommended that you join this organization.

Verla Kay
Verla Kay is a successful children's author and a graduate of the Institute of Children's Literature. This website has lots of information on the writing process and many useful links. There is also an online forum where you can ask your own questions.

Writing for Children and Teens - A Crash Course
Cynthea Liu's website on writing for children and teens. There are a lot of great articles and tips on writing and revision.

I found out about Mr. Block on the SCBWI website. He's the foremost advisor for tax issues with writing. Each year, he produces an up-to-date publication on what you need to know for taxes as a writer.
